April Slone, LMHC

Executive Director 

Mental Health Counselor

April Slone brings over 30 years of experience in the domestic violence field to her role as Executive Director of The Beaman Home. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Trine University and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Grace College. She is also a licensed mental health counselor.

Over her 28-year journey with Beaman Home, she has served in nearly every role—from frontline advocate to case manager, residential manager, grant writer, and beyond—giving her a deep, firsthand understanding of the challenges and responsibilities faced by staff at all levels. Her leadership style is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to fostering a healthy, respectful workplace culture.

As Executive Director, she is focused on promoting a team-centered environment where staff feel supported, empowered, and valued. She believes the strength of Beaman Home lies in its people, and she is dedicated to nurturing growth—for both staff and the individuals they serve.

Ashley Baier

Ashley Baier

Associate Director 

Data and Grants Manager

Ashley Baier has been a dedicated member of The Beaman Home team for over a decade. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Throughout her tenure, Ashley has served in a variety of roles including Children’s Coordinator, Advocate, Case Manager, Data Quality Specialist, and most recently, Grants Manager.

In her current role as Associate Director, Ashley is instrumental in securing essential funding through grants and private donations, ensuring the sustainability of the shelter and its vital programs. Her commitment to continuous improvement is reflected in the numerous trainings she has completed, such as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Sexual Assault Core 40, and Children’s Mental Health First Aid.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ashley enjoys spending time her husband, Preston, and raising their daughter. She also loves traveling, reading, and crafting.

Rachel Davis

Residential Program Manager

Marketing & Communications

Rachel Davis joins our team with a strong background in leadership, customer care, and community service. A Warsaw native and Academic Honors graduate of Warsaw Community High School, Rachel began her career in her family's business, Lake City Heat Treating, where she developed a solid foundation in administrative work and serving customers. 

Rachel has a passion for meeting people where they are and creating strong, supportive teams. She brings years of experience in leading staff, managing day-to-day operations and always steps up to support her community. While previously employed with Lowe's for 11 years, she proudly volunteered through the Lowe's Heroes program, led her store's Voice Team for five years, and served as Co-Captain of the Safety Team for three years. Rachel is all about teamwork, leadership, and making a positive impact where she goes.

Rachel recently graduated from the Kosciusko County CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) program, a collaborative training initiative led by the Warsaw Police Department and the Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory- CARES program. Rachel says this experience has deepened her understanding of mental health crisis response and strengthened her commitment to supporting individuals in challenging situations with compassion and care.

Known for her hands on leadership style and dedication to creating a positive experience, Rachel is passionate about building trust and is excited to continue growing professionally while making a meaningful impact on our clients, our staff, and our community. 

In her free time she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and traveling.
